What Happens If You Can’t Fix My Oven?
If We are unable to repair your Oven or Cooker for the pre-agreed price quoted, for whatever the reason, parts not available, parts too expensive. We, Will, Walk Away With No Charge To You! Nada, Zero Dinero (No Call-Out, No Diagnosis & No Repair). If the problem quoted for is different, then you can get a revised fixed price from an engineer, if you decide not to take advantage of the revised price, you have NO obligation to proceed!
How Long Will It Take to Fix My Oven?
We pride ourselves on repairing 95% of customer’s ovens on the first visit within 2 days, but sometimes because of spares availability, it could take up to an additional 7 days. (if you’re unhappy with the extra time we fully understand and we will cancel the repair with no charge to you!)
How does the Appointment Work?
It can be difficult arranging appointments when the majority of our clients work full time, for your convenience we work from Mon-Fri 7am – 7pm and Sat 9am – 1pm, typically we offer AM 7-1 & PM 1-7 with 30 min call before we turn up, but we can avoid School times & offer 1st & Last Call in some instances depending on your location & our Job schedule, try us, see if we can fit in with your plans!
How Do I Pay For My Repair?
When The Repair is complete you will be offered an option of Card Payment or Cash & In some instances Pre-payment by Bacs (Bank Transfer) & Paypal can be accepted.
How long is my oven repair guaranteed?
Your Repair Will Be Guaranteed for both Parts and Labour for a total of 6 months, so no charge if the supplied part fails. We also offer an additional 3 years on parts only providing you pay the standard labour charge at the time!
What do I do if the part fails within the guarantee period!
If your Appliance fails within the guarantee period just give a call to any number you have including the one on this site and we’ll be happy to come out, evaluate the problem and rectify Free of charge within the 6 month period!

12 Top Range Cooker/Oven Repairs Problems
Your oven is great when it works but when it goes wrong, what a frustration…
below we have a list of the top 12 issues we get called out for, click each title to provide more information on oven repairs.
Oven Dead!
When the clock is not set correctly the main oven will not start & looks like it’s actually dead, some people confuse this with a selector switch or thermostatic problem, when in fact just resetting the clock by pressing one or two buttons on the left-hand side and one of the two right ones will cure the problem!
Oven Door Doesn’t Close
This is normally confused with being a door seal problem, however normally under closer inspection, it’s actually the door hinge or receptor that are worn with use, it only has to be worn slightly to have a gap of 5mm at the opening. Of course, on some, it’s the actual spring that has worn.
Oven Door Seal Broken!
We get called upon very often to repair these issues, however, it’s a simple thing that can be remedied by the user by simply pulling the seal away from the unit and replacing it with a new door seal. You simply pull up & out, you’ll notice they typically clip in at each corner!
No Heat In Oven
Usually, this is diagnosed by the user as
- cold air only in the oven
- no heat or it won’t come on
- Oven Tripped electric & Now not heating
Typically means the heater/element has become open circuit & failed.
This will need an engineer with replacement parts to be called!
Oven Not Hot Enough!
Normally users complain that their oven is taking an exceptional amount of time to heat up e.g. pizza takes 30-40 mins instead of 14mins or the roast takes 6 hours instead of 2 hours…
Very Frustrating when this happens, but typically means the fan motor has gone weak or seized up, but if conventional oven not hot enough then could mean top or bottom element/heater have failed you will need an appliance repairman to supply a new motor & replace it!
Oven Tripped Electric!
- Electric Tripped While Cooking, now blowing cold air
- Power cut now oven won't come on!
This normally means that the heater/element filament has lost its insulation or warped inside the earthed casing & touched the casing, this can be seen when you have a visual on the element as a split or cauliflower-like bulge on the casing. It can also show as a white powder/dust covering the inside of the oven compartment.

Cooker Cut Out
This could be as simple as a faulty fuse, so just reset in the fusebox.
A faulty TOC (THERMAL OVERLOAD CUT OUT) or in fact working due to cooling fan issue
However, it could also be a melted terminal block on the rear of the oven where the wires join the oven.
This can be caused by not regularly servicing or by not being wired properly on installation!
Simply call an oven repairman to renew the terminal block!
Oven Is Burning Everything
An oven burning everything normally means the thermostat has gotten weak and is ineffective in activating the switch which regulates the power to the heater/element… defiantly best to get an engineer because of lots of wires & a strip-down of the oven!
Control Knobs Hot
This is typically due to the cooling fan which redistributes the hot air from the rear of the oven and blows it across the top of the oven keeping the circuits, wires & oven controls safe from melting.
If it is working you will feel the air in the gap between the oven & fascia.
Use the back of your hand to feel as can be slight!
Hob Wont Regulate!
Hob Wont Regulate Or Simmer!
We also hear that it boils everything or burns all my pans (good excuse if you boiled the pan dry), this typically means that the regulator has welded itself inside. Call an appliance repairman to replace it with a new regulator switch.
Hob Ring Wont Turn On.
This is the opposite of the regulator welding shut, this time it’s open, this is quite rare though.
